"The incredible women I’ve met along the way continuously inspire me"

Ellen Goldie, 24, is the creator of Hummingbird Lingerie, a post-surgery underwear specialist. She explains why she started the company and how she is supporting Ovarian Cancer Action for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
"I created Hummingbird Lingerie in 2016, inspired by my glamorous grandmother Marlene who fearlessly battled and beat breast cancer. After shopping with her for post-surgery lingerie, we quickly realised there was nothing available that made her feel confident and feminine.
So I decided to use my degree in lingerie design to create feel-good lingerie for women of all ages, catering specifically to the women that need it most.
It's so rewarding when I receive feedback like this from Hummingbird Lingerie customers:
“I feel confident, lifted and my sassy self again”
“I feel like I’ve got my sexy back”
“After going through this, to have that feeling of normality and feeling beautiful is so precious”
“I am over the moon, it fits perfectly, it’s the most confident and feminine I’ve felt since my surgery “
Hummingbird exists to re-empower women that may feel they have lost their femininity and confidence along their journey. Be that through breast cancer, ovarian cancer or BRCA gene mutations and surgery.
My aim is to celebrate their strong and beautiful bodies in style with the gorgeous handmade lingerie that they deserve.
The incredible women I’ve met along the way continuously inspire me. The brave and moving stories they share reflect exactly why charities such as Ovarian Cancer Action supporting research and awareness are so important.
It is an honour to be supporting Ovarian Cancer Action with our Teal Ribbon collection. The high waisted knicker is inspired by one of our lovely models and 70% of the profits are donated to the charity."
