BBC Lifeline Appeal: Thank you

Julia, Laura, Rosie and Suzie: the faces of this year's BBC Lifeline Appeal

Julia, Laura, Rosie, and Suzie: the faces of this year's BBC Lifeline Appeal

Here's to you,

On Sunday the 31st January, our BBC Lifeline Appeal aired. This was an incredible opportunity to get the nation's eyes on ovarian cancer and gain support for the life-saving research we do. So many people are responsible for giving ovarian cancer this platform, and this is our thank you letter to you, the special people who helped support us.

Firstly, we would like to thank Julia Bradbury. TV presenter Julia Bradbury has been shouting our message from the rooftops, gathering her influence and power, using it for good. Thank you so much, Julia, without you we wouldn’t have been able to reach so many women, to help spread awareness of this disease and the vital work we do as an ovarian cancer research charity.

This appeal wouldn’t have been possible without the three amazing women who allowed us into their lives and opened their hearts to tell their stories. We would like to say a massive thank you to Laura, for sharing her story and highlighting the importance of knowing the symptoms of ovarian cancer. To Rosie for sharing her BRCA journey, and the importance of knowing your genetic risk of ovarian cancer. And to Suzie, for raising awareness of immunotherapy and the important research we do here at Ovarian Cancer Action.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to the BBC for giving us this platform, allowing us to bring ovarian cancer into the public's eye. Thank you so much to all the staff who worked on this project, who went above and beyond to help us deliver our message during a worldwide pandemic.
