An event for the Next Generation

Events Producer, Amy Row of the Next Generation Party

Events Producer, Amy Row of the Next Generation Party

Ovarian Cancer Action hosts the Next Generation Party at the Open Art Fair this March. Ahead of the big day, Events Producer Amy Rowe shares why the event is so close to her heart and how she hopes it will make an impact on the next generation of women.

"I’ve produced a wide variety of events and festivals over the last eight years, but OCA's Next Generation Party is the one I’ve been the most excited about for some time.  Having lost my mum to ovarian cancer in 2008, the ongoing work that OCA is doing to raise funds and awareness is something that's really close to my heart. My family and I are all too aware of the vital role that research plays if we are to create a better future for the next generation of women. A future where ovarian cancer is a survivable disease and families don't have to experience the heartache of having someone they love taken too soon.

In keeping with this theme of 'Next Generation', the event will celebrate the creativity of young and emerging female talent through a programme of inspiring entertainment. The Open Art Fair as our setting has also given us an exciting opportunity to anchor the event in the world of fine and contemporary art.  I’m excited to bring the Open Art Fair to life after hours with our contributors: artists, performers, cocktail connoisseurs and the legends behind Caravan food!  We’ve got a big fundraising target to hit — all of which I hope can contribute towards funding the next generation of research and accelerating progress in three main areas: preventing the disease, diagnosing it early, and developing effective, personalised treatments."

Tickets for the Next Generation Party at the Open Art Fair are now on sale, with concessions available for under-30s. Click here to find out more about the event and to buy tickets.
