Celebrate their life by donating to Ovarian Cancer Action and help create a future when no woman dies from ovarian cancer.
How can I collect donations as part of the funeral?
Create a tribute page
An online tribute page is a personal way to share photos and memories of your loved one with friends and family. It will last forever, so you can keep re-visiting it at special moments and collect donations in their memory.
By sharing more about your loved one, you can set up an online tribute page in just a few moments. You’ll need to decide whether you’d prefer the tribute page to be public or private. You can also specify whether visitors will be able to make a charity donation.
Set up a funeral notice page
If you need to notify others of a funeral, you can add a funeral notice to your online tribute page and share more funeral details, including date, time, and location.
Funeral donation boxes
Funeral donation boxes allow your guests to make donations directly to your chosen charity at the end of a funeral service. You can also put a Gift Aid declaration on your charity collection envelopes or boxes.
Donations instead of funeral flowers
You can collect donations instead of funeral flowers, allowing friends and family to pay their respects in an alternative way.
Cheques
Your friends and relatives may prefer to make their donation by cheque. Please make cheques payable to ‘Ovarian Cancer Action’. We recommend collecting and posting all cheques together with any Gift Aid forms. Please enclose a brief note including the name of your loved one, your name, address, and telephone number, to:

Gillian's story
“It was a very easy decision to ask for donations at Gillian’s funeral for Ovarian Cancer Action. My son, Andrew, and his girlfriend, Amy, also set up a GoFundMe page to allow those not able to attend to donate and even set up QR codes to allow people to donate online at the funeral. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the donations received. Raising £5,600 for Ovarian Cancer Action was way beyond our expectations” - Douglas
In-Memory and Funeral Donations FAQs
How to ask for donations at a funeral or memorial service
When asking for donations at a funeral service, you could include the details within your funeral notice as a request instead of bringing or sending flowers. You could also include the decision within your Order of Service or funeral booklet. This would allow you to express the reasons behind your chosen charity and why the decision would mean so much to your loved one.
How do I receive written confirmation of my gift?
We will provide a receipt for any donation made directly to Ovarian Cancer Action. If you have any questions or concerns about a donation receipt, please email us at fundraising@ovarian.org.uk or call us on 020 7380 1730.
How can I pay in fundraising money in cash?

Tax considerations for funeral donations
If you choose to set up an online tribute page, Gift Aid will be applied to applicable donations, which Ovarian Cancer Action can claim an extra 25p for every £1 given. It will not cost you any extra. If you are collecting cheques, each cheque will need to be submitted with an accompanying Gift Aid declaration form.
