Our Fundraising Promise
We are the UK’s ovarian cancer research charity and our mission is to fund research that saves lives. Overcoming ovarian cancer is about working together. It’s about joining forces and becoming greater than the sum of our parts.
From funding scientists on the front line, to mobilising millions of people across the UK to take action – our supporters are driven by a vision of a world without ovarian cancer and a belief that together we can create a better future.
We couldn't take action without your support and generosity, which is why we value your trust so highly. It's also why, when you make the decision to support us, we make these promises to you:
We will commit to the highest fundraising standards
We will work to the Fundraising Code of Practice, maintaining the highest standards.
We do all we can to ensure that fundraisers, volunteers and third parties working with us to raise funds comply with the Code of Fundraising Practice and with the law.
We will be clear, honest & open
We are clear about who we are, what we do and how your gift is used.
We will do what we say we are going to do with donations we receive and will be accountable to you. For every £1 we receive, 50p is spent on funding new research; 23p is spent on raising awareness; 23p is spent on fundraising, and 4p on governance.
When third parties fundraise on our behalf, we will make this relationship and the financial arrangement transparent.
We give a clear explanation of how you can make a donation and amend a regular commitment.
We will respect your rights
We will treat donors and the public fairly, and will respect the rights and privacy of everyone who supports us.
We won’t put undue pressure on you to make a gift. If you don’t want to give, or wish to stop giving, we will respect your decision.
If you tell us that you don't want us to contact you in a particular way, we won’t do so.
We will be accountable & responsible
We take care not to use any images or words that will cause unjustifiable distress or offence.
We will manage our resources responsibly and consider the impact of our fundraising on our donors, supporters and the wider public.
If you are unhappy with anything we’ve done whilst fundraising, you can contact us to make a complaint. We aim to improve supporter care and their experience by using complaints constructively in the planning and improvement of all our services. Please email info@ovarian.org.uk or call 020 7380 1730.
We are regulated by the Fundraising Regulator and are committed to the highest standards in fundraising. We promise to adhere to their Fundraising Code of Practice.
