Make a difference together this September.
In England, 40% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer only found out after going to A&E. That’s not just a shocking statistic – it’s a wake-up call.
Why are women being diagnosed so late?
- Symptoms are often unknown – In the UK, 90% of women do not know the four main symptoms of ovarian cancer
- Women don’t feel heard - More than 4 in 5 women in the UK reported that they weren't listened to by healthcare professionals when discussing women's health topics
- Research is underfunded – In the UK, ovarian cancer research has received a fifth of the funding of breast cancer research over the last ten years. Where breast cancer survival rates have drastically improved, with 80% of women now surviving for at least 10 years or more, this is just 35% of women with ovarian cancer.
When women speak up about their symptoms - about pain, bloating, fatigue, or gut instinct – we’re not being dramatic, hormonal, or difficult. We’re being brave, clear, and proactive.
Women have been taught to second-guess our own bodies. To wait it out. To be polite about pain. But it’s time to unlearn that. Because when it comes to ovarian cancer, early action matters.
But we believe in a different future, one where awareness campaigns aren’t needed, because better tests, treatments and even prevention are already in place. This September, will you help us go further?
