Starting at Preston Park, this iconic 26.2-mile race is one of the UK’s most popular marathons and for good reason.

Set in one of the country’s most vibrant cities, the Brighton Marathon offers a fast, scenic course, a buzzing atmosphere, and a spectacular seafront finish. Whether you're a first-time marathon runner or chasing a PB, this event delivers unforgettable energy and unbeatable views.

Open to runners aged 18 and over, the Brighton Marathon is part of the wider Brighton Marathon Weekend, which also features the BM10k, Mini Mile Races and a packed running expo. From elite athletes to everyday heroes, thousands take part every year – and now it’s your turn.

The route

The 26.2-mile course begins in leafy Preston Park, winds through the city past the historic Royal Pavilion, and heads down to the coast. You’ll take in Brighton’s iconic sights before heading west along the seafront, cheered on by crowds lining the promenade all the way to the finish line.

This is a flat, fast route perfect for setting a personal best or just soaking up the electric atmosphere and sea air.
