What is Walk in Her Name?

This March, we are inviting you to join us for a Virtual step challenge. To take action for all women affected by ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is often overlooked – and funding vital research is urgently needed.

Walk 100km your way throughout the month of March.

Every step you take will help fund life-saving breakthroughs and improve the lives of women affected by this disease. Together, we can drive change and make a real difference.

Where does the challenge take place?

There is no set location – so the choice is yours. You can break your 100km into shorter walks that fit around your daily routine, or plan a special long walk with friends and family in your local area. Wherever you decide to go with, just make sure it’s safe and enjoyable.

If walking alone, stick to daylight hours where possible and plan your route carefully. If you’re walking after dark, wear reflective clothing and consider carrying a lightweight torch for extra visibility.

Is there a registration fee?

Registration is completely free!
As a thank you for joining, we’ll send you a free #TeamOCA t-shirt to wear proudly during your challenge.

Do I have to walk the entire 100km in one go?

There is no rush to complete your walks in one go – you will have the whole month of March to complete your steps.

Does it have to be 100km?

We hope everyone taking part can complete the full 100km during March, but please don’t push yourself to the point of injury – your wellbeing comes first.

If you’d like to go beyond 100km and challenge yourself even further, that’s absolutely welcome too!

Do I have to walk, or can I run?

You can complete the 100km your way and choose the activity that suits you best – whether it’s walking, running, or a mix of both.

I’m finding it hard to walk in memory of my loved one. Where can I find support and resources for bereavement?

We understand this can be an incredibly difficult time, and it’s completely normal to experience a range of emotions after losing a loved one. Please remember you’re not alone; support is out there. We’ve included helpful information and resources on our website to guide you through this journey. website.

I can’t do March, can I choose another date?

Starting the challenge together brings us closer as a community, giving us the chance to support and inspire one another while honouring and celebrating our loved ones.

We’d love for you to begin in March so we can share this journey side by side. But if you need a little extra time, please don’t worry—every step counts, and you’re welcome to finish at your own pace.
