Thank you for using Ovarian Cancer Action's Hereditary Cancer Risk Calculator
This hereditary cancer risk calculator is for people living in the UK who are over 18 and have not yet had genetic testing for faulty genes linked to a higher risk of ovarian cancer.
It is designed to help you find out if you may be eligible to be referred to discuss possible genetic testing.
There are questions which rely on you having information about your family history of cancer on your biological mother and father’s sides. If you are unsure about your family history we recommend you speak to your relatives to find out if anyone in your extended family has been diagnosed with cancer. You can find some information on how to do this.
If this is something you are unable to do, please speak to your GP for advice.
Ths risk calculator does not assess your eligibility for all possible genetic testing that can impact your health. If you are concerned about any other hereditary health risks in your family, please speak to your GP.
The outcomes of this survey are based on the information you are able to provide and how it relates to the current referral guidelines in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Refer to your local guidelines if you reside outside the United Kingdom.
Care has been taken to ensure that the information we provide in this tool is as accurate as possible when created and has been reviewed by clinical geneticists, however guidelines do change and if you are concerned you should speak to your GP.
