  • £13,447 raised for the Ovarian Cancer Screening Appeal

    “Currently the biggest barrier for treating ovarian cancer in my opinion is late presentation. My team have done extensive whole genome sequencing of tumours to identify very early mutations in ovarian cancer that could form the basis of a screening tool. The funds raised by this campaign will provide us with essential funds for important research so we can understand how ovarian cancer starts and get better at detecting it early.   • Walk in Her Name in Hyde Park

    "We loved taking part in the Hyde Park Walk in Her Name. It’s so important for us to remember those women who have not responded to treatment and families who have lost a loved one. It was a great feeling to be surrounded by so many who feel passionate about taking action against this disease.   • World Ovarian Cancer Day in Wales

    "We were extremely grateful to all of our Welsh supporters who turned out to hand out white roses to passers-by at Cardiff Central train station for the hugely successful World Ovarian Cancer Day. The event not only raised awareness of the signs and symptoms to people in Wales but across social media and even in the Welsh Assembly with many Assembly Members choosing to wear their Roses in the Senedd Chamber." - Alicia Evans, Wales Regional Officer

  • Team OCA run the London Marathon

    "In 2018, we had our best year yet in the London Marathon with 21 runners raising an incredible £62,360.83, enough to fund one of our post-doc researchers at the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre in Hammersmith.  After cheering the runners we held post-race reception at the QEII centre and even had a masseuse waiting to ease those tired marathon legs! We couldn’t be more grateful for the generous support and hard work put in from each runner, a huge thank you to everyone involved!" - Tom Allitt, Challenge Events Fundraising Co-ordinator

  • Talking Ovaries to raise Awareness

    As a charity we're determined to spread awareness of the disease with as many people as possible, so in Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 2018 we launched our brand new Talking Ovaries packs to get more people talking about the disease, and help us spread the word across the country. The packs contain a selection of posters, leaflets and cards contain vital symptoms awareness information and ideas and hints as to how people can share our information – from talking ovaries to colleagues at work, to instigating conversations about ovarian cancer in the community.  To date we have sent out more than 600 packs, with the information reaching more than 650,000 people across the UK! - Ross Little, Health Projects Manager
