Cary

About

Cary Wakefield joined Ovarian Cancer Action in 2018, bringing a wealth of experience spanning FTSE, Public Sector and not-for-profit organisations in the UK and Europe. She started her career working on healthcare at GSK and has held marketing and customer insight leadership roles at the likes of the BBC, BskyB, The Economist, Freeview and EMI, successfully innovating and developing well known household brands. She is also a Non Exec Director at Peabody Trust, one of the largest housing associations in the UK.

Cary is leading Ovarian Cancer Action’s ambitious strategy to transform 10-year survival rates, so that by 2032 at least half of all women diagnosed with ovarian cancer live beyond their diagnosis.

She is passionate about women’s health and using her extensive experience to ensure that Ovarian Cancer Action creates noise, provokes thought, and leads change in healthcare and education to break down barriers in diagnosis and treatment. Combined with the charity’s investment in outstanding clinical and scientific research, Cary believes this will enable breakthroughs that give all women the very best chance of survival.
