If a woman has a normal CA125 test result (less than 35 IU/ml) or if a woman has a CA125 test of 35 IU/ml or greater but a normal ultrasound:
- Assess again. Are there any other clinical causes that could explain her symptoms?
- Ask her to come back. If there are not any other apparent clinical causes of her symptoms, you should advise her to return to see you again if her symptoms become more frequent and/or persistent.
You may find it useful to give your patient a symptoms diary to help her record the type and frequency of her symptoms.
